Juanita Collier is our Special Care Coordinator. She helps and supports the teachers with children with special needs by redirecting their behavior with movement, fidgets, or simply taking a walk out of the classroom to allow the child to self-regulate, if possible. She also recruits volunteers to help on a rotating basis. Juanita has served at the church for about 15+ years. She has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, she is a Certified Montessori Teacher, Montessori Teacher Trainer, Positive Discipline Facilitator, and a United 4 Hope Co-Coordinator. She is the Director of School Partnerships with the 510 Foundation, the nonprofit outreach arm of the church. She loves it when a child talks about the love of Jesus by sharing a scripture or answering a question in a way that shows they are not ashamed. It is powerful. Also when she is at school and hears a child talking about God and telling other children about him. “You can’t see him, but he lives in your heart.” Psalm 139 is her favorite of scripture.
